Delamain Solar Farm Limited are applying to An Bord Pleanála for a 10-year planning permission for development at Delamain and Dunnstown (Townlands), Co. Kildare.
The proposed development comprises of a 220kV AIS single bay tail-fed electricity substation (with 33kV customer compound) (including two control buildings, associated structures and apparatus, lightning protection, telecom pole, perimeter security fencing, security lighting, water and drainage infrastructure, temporary construction compound) to connect to and serve a solar farm; associated grid connection between the proposed substation and the existing Dunnstown 400/220kV substation comprising 220kV underground electricity cables of c.1.26 km in length to be provided in an excavated trench including associated fibre cable and ducting, and all associated site development and reinstatement works; temporary construction and operational access from the R412, vehicular entrance and access track from this public road; all ancillary site development, landscaping and earthworks. A Natura Impact Statement (NIS) has been prepared in respect of the proposed development.
The development subject to this application forms part of grid connection and access arrangements which will facilitate the connection of the proposed Delamain Solar Farm (Kildare County Council Reference 23/567 / An Bord Pleanála Reference ABP-318785-24) to the national electricity grid.
